ICJLE(International Conference of Japanese Language Education)

The conference will be held in Madison, Wisconsin, USA in August 2024. It is being co-hosted by the American Association of Teachers of Japanese (AATJ) and the Canadian Association for Japanese Language Education (CAJLE) 

Proposals for paper presentations, poster presentations, and interactive workshops can be submitted until Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, 11:59 pm US Central Time. Please check out details at Call for Papers

Auckland Regional Secondary School Speech Festival

We are pleased to advise you that this year’s Auckland Regional Secondary School Speech Festival will take place at AUT on Saturday 17 August. The top prize is a round-trip ticket to Japan, generously donated by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce in Auckland, Nisui-Kai.

This year, we have decided to invite participants from schools in Northland, Bay of Plenty, and Waikato, as well as Auckland. We would very much appreciate it if you could please spread the word about the speech festival in your region.

Tertiary Japanese Language Speech Contest 2017

Tertiary Japanese Language Speech Contest 2017

This is an online national contest presented by JSANZ for students studying Japanese in the participating tertiary institution throughout NZ.

Present a speech with a theme “Travel” to audience and film it. Upload the video clip to YouTube and enter the competition.

  • 1st prize: A return ticket to Tokyo
  • Speech Theme: Travel
  • Number of applicants: Maximum of two contestants from each institution

Applications open on 1 May, close on 1 July. Winners will be announced on 31 August.

Ask your lecturer for more information and guidelines.

JSANZ speech competition 2015

The first prize winner in the 2015 JSANZ Tertiary Japanese Language Speech Contest will be awarded a return air ticket to Japan again this year.Two candidates from each tertiary institution in New Zealand can enter.Application opens in May so get prepared for the challenge.
